The complex was designed by the firm of Morgans, Walls, and Clement, who are also responsible for The Mayan and El Capitan Theatres. Evergreen Cemetery
The Evergreen Cemetery, with 67 acres and 300,000 graves, was established 1877 and is the oldest cemetery in Los Angeles. This cemetery does not have many celebrity graves, but does host some real historical heavyweights like George A. This historic Art Deco Sears building (listed in the National Historical Register of Historic places in 2006) is still a functional Sears store. In fact Sears recently signed a new 99-year lease on the front of the building. However, it remains a mystery what the remainder of the massive 1.8 million square feet building will be used for.

Farmer John Mural
Started in 1931, the Clougherty Packing company adopted the Farmer John brand name in 1953. Several years later, in 1957, work began on the audacious and now historic mural project around their slaughterhouse and meat packing plant just south of downtown. This gift shop was established in 1993 to raise money for the city government, in particular the Youthful Drunk Driving Visitation Program (YDDVP). Since then the place has been well received and successful. The gift store is not large but the items they stock are pretty cool. A big seller is the towel with the body outline.
