Things to See and Do

The Americana at Brand
The developer of this site, Caruso Affiliated, is responsible for a number of these well-designed and consumer-friendly outdoor shopping areas. These "mediated public spaces" are somewhere between a mall and a public area, though in the final analysis they have more in common with a mall. A wide variety of higher end shops are located at Americana, including a Tiffany outlet and an H&M store. Ther... (read more)

Brand Park
Brand Park is a large area in northwest Glendale. There are many attractions here plus hiking trails, playgrounds, and picnic areas. There are some wonderful views from the hiking trails. Make sure you take a camera with you! The area encompasses 31 acres. In addition to the gardens, there also ings The Doctor's House Museum and Gazebo, Whispering Pine Teahouse & Friendship Garden, and The Brand L... (read more)

Affordable Los Angeles Restaurants
A meal at the places listed here will cost you around $8 to $15 dollars a person; plus more for alcoholic beverages. This list started as my most frequented favorite restaurants in LA, with more expensive places screened out. I have also done some online research in an attempt to make this selection more comprehensive. The days are organized by location: Day 1 -- Westside Day 2 -- West Hollywo... (read more - PDF guide)
